Did the bible go viral? Kevin Allocca in the above ted video claimed that for something to go viral it had to be unique. Well the bible was the first printed book, of “God’s word” A viral had to have a mass participating community, the clergy and followers are certainly a mass following. The third is element are the tastemakers, or the clergy at the time were the preachers of society and the rulers in many cases especially in Ireland.
We know of lots of viral videos and they are not necessarily good entertainment for everyone but it is obviously much easier to find a participating mass audience on the internet than anywhere else. This is due to the ease of manipulation of digital content, ease of transport of that content and the freedom to express ourselves.
